ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Amin, I’m 22 years old and I’m a recent graduate from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in CCIT (Communication, Culture, Information and Technology). I have also minored in Visual Culture & Communication, as well as Cinema Studies. I also have a Certificate of Digital Communications from Sheridan College.
I’ve been doing graphic design for about 6 years now. Throughout that time, I have worked on design projects for courses/classes, clubs at University, small businesses, companies, freelance projects, as well as personal passion projects of my own.
On this site, you will be able to find and read about a bunch of different projects I have worked on within the past 6 years and hopefully, it will give you a sense of not only the type of designer I am but maybe also a little bit about the kind of person I am. I invite you to spend some time browsing the site and reading and looking at some of these projects. If you would like to learn more, I have also included details behind my thinking process when designing projects, for most of what you see on the site.
In addition to graphic design, I am a big music guy. I don’t just like listening to music, I also play and compose a little bit of my own stuff as well. I play piano, percussion, and drums, and I have been doing all of that for pretty much my entire life. I also love films and movies, especially when I can combine that passion with design (like creating movie posters and so on). I also recently started really getting into video and making video projects, like creating short films and specifically the editing aspect of it all.
When it comes to the work I do, whether it is for class projects or ones I do for others, there are four main programs I use. My favourite and the one I use the most is Adobe Illustrator. That is where I pretty much do all my designs. Depending on what I am designing and the type of project I am working on, I also combine Illustrator with Adobe Photoshop and use that on the side as well.
When it comes to video projects I work on, I use Adobe Premiere Pro and for print media (like books, booklets, brochures, and so on), I use Adobe InDesign.
I decided to create this site to not only have a place to keep all my work and use it as a portfolio but also in order to start officially doing freelance graphic design work. If you would like to reach out to me for any questions or would like me to work on a project for you, click on the contact button below. You can also check out my “CV” right below, which outlines most of the work I have done recently and where I have done on it. Thank you for visiting my site and I look forward to hopefully hearing from you.
